2021 Lessons and 2022 Intentions

SHOW NOTES: Episode 2

On today’s episode, I want to share with you some vital lessons that I learned in 2021 as well as some intentions that I have going forward in 2022.

2021 had it’s moments of ups and it’s moments of downs but in the end, it was such a breakthrough year for me. I learned a lot that I want to share with you in this episode. There were good times and hard times but it set me up for a breakthrough and set me up to focus on my intentions for 2022. The lessons that I learned this past year are:

Lesson #1 - Crisis breeds opportunities.

When you see a crisis, I want you to realize that there is an opportunity. You have an opportunity for reinvention, reevaluation, and discovering the potential that lies within you. Disruption and disappointment provided me with the opportunity to see what I was made of. Crisis also provided me with an opportunity to be creative. We had a virtual birthday party for my daughter and it was really nice and a great way to celebrate her even during the crisis of a pandemic.

Lesson #2 - Community is vital to my development.

Our greatest wealth is found in our relationships with others and that makes me a wealthy woman. I am so blessed to have the relationships that I have in my life. I could not have made it through without my community, friends, and those who are speaking good things over my life. You absolutely need to be in a community. We need each other to survive.

Lesson #3 - Alignment is better than accomplishing.

You don’t have to be accomplishing something in order to feel relevant. Align yourself better with the life that you want. When you are in alignment with yourself, it will take the pressure off of you to be in a space of accomplishing.

Focusing on the woman that I want to be in the next 10 years is my main focus right now. So, thinking about the woman that I want to be in the next 10 years, my intentions for 2022 are:

Intention #1 - Do it scared. Do it unsure. Do it when you don’t understand it all. Do it in imperfection. Do it.

Don’t talk about it. Don’t strategize every detail. Get out there and do it.

Intention #2 - Be ok with your journey looking different.

It’s ok if our journeys look different. I don’t have to have all of the things that the world tells me to have. That’s ok. My journey is different and that is ok.

Intention #3 - I am no longer in the rat race.

I’m not competing in the rat race. If it’s time for me to rest, I’m going to rest. If it’s time for me to take a break, I will take a break. I’m not allowing myself to be mentally and emotionally drained in a constant hustle. The person I need to be consulting with every day is God. I want to encourage you to do the same.

And there you have it. Those are the three lessons I leaned in 2021 and the three intentions that I have for 2022. If this episode resonated with you, please feel free to reach out and let’s chat about it. Connect with me on Instagram: @borninfluencerpodcast
